Timing depends on braid size, length, and density. Typically a take down takes 30 to 90 minutes. Intricate styles or very long, tightly braided hair may require more time; your stylist will give a realistic estimate at check-in.
When performed correctly, take down should minimize shedding and breakage. Our stylists detangle gently, apply conditioners, and remove extensions carefully. Some natural shedding is normal; persistent loss is assessed and addressed with treatments and advice.
You're welcome to wash beforehand, but avoid heavy products that impede detangling. If hair is very dry, a light conditioning spray is fine. We also offer pre-take down cleansing and treatments at the salon if needed.
Yes. Our team removes both natural and synthetic extensions carefully to prevent tangling and damage. Synthetic fibers may shed; we take extra care, sometimes cutting small sections to safely remove stubborn or fused ends.
